Holy hole in a donut Batman! A slick laptop for 800 Dollars?
A laptop running Lindows. A 933mhz VIA processor, 256MB RAM, USB 2.0, Firewire, Ethernet, 12.1" TFT display, PCMCIA slot. Looks like a good deal to me.

In Propylon, we are pretty much switching to laptops for everyone. These things are so powerful these days, plus, we use USB hubs to connect to full keywords and monitors for desktop work. I wouldn't go back to a desktop/deskside coccyx crusher.

Mr. Spock - not Dr. Spock
A number of people have pointed out to me that Spock of Star Trek fame is properly referred to as Mr. Spock not Dr. Spock, as I referred to him in this article. I stand corrected.

I'm now a paid custumer of Google
Yup. Because Google you see, now owns www.blogger.com and (this site is hosted by blogger and I pay for it. Congratulations to Evan Williams! Interesting times ahead for blogging which is well on the way to being a mainstream paradigm. What do you mean you don't have a blog? How baroque of you!
