A laptop running Lindows. A 933mhz VIA processor, 256MB RAM, USB 2.0, Firewire, Ethernet, 12.1" TFT display, PCMCIA slot. Looks like a good deal to me.
In Propylon, we are pretty much switching to laptops for everyone. These things are so powerful these days, plus, we use USB hubs to connect to full keywords and monitors for desktop work. I wouldn't go back to a desktop/deskside coccyx crusher.

Mr. Spock - not Dr. Spock
A number of people have pointed out to me that Spock of Star Trek fame is properly referred to as Mr. Spock not Dr. Spock, as I referred to him in this article. I stand corrected.
